Benefits and Compensation

Alice Tang, 503-341-1088,

Jessica Porter, 503-654-7676,

Meeting Dates & Times: Please visit our calendar of events.

The Benefits and Compensation SIG offers an informal opportunity to discuss the constantly changing world of employee benefits and compensation. Skyrocketing insurance costs, and the increasing availability of comp and benefits info on the web have made employees much savvier about their total compensation packages than they've ever been. In addition, the influx of high tech into the Portland/Vancouver area in the past 5 years has upped the ante for all employers in the Pacific Northwest. Please join us to discuss these and other wide-ranging issues challenging benefits and compensation professionals today.

Diversity & Inclusion

Our Diversity SIG is an important resource for PHRMA members interested in cultivating their diverse work force, customer and supplier base. Our emphasis is on welcoming and working with individuals of difference, races, cultures, genders, ages, physical and mental capabilities, religious beliefs, sexual orientations and educational backgrounds. Topics relate to managing multigenerational and intercultural workforces, implementing strategic diversity initiatives and addressing diversity related topics as requested by the PHRMA community. The Diversity SIG is expanding to include workshops to further explore the more complex issues relating to diversity.   The SIG also identifies community resources and notifies members of upcoming diversity related events.

labor Relations

Kyle Abraham, 503-276-2132,

Meeting Dates & Times: Please visit our calendar of events.

After the eventful election of 2016, President Trump has appointed several new members to the National Labor Relations Board, and a new General Counsel.   For the first time in nearly a decade, the NLRB has a majority of members appointed by a Republican.  We are beginning to see many cases decided by the Obama-era NLRB reversed.  If you work with unions, it is more important than ever to stay current on labor laws.   PHRMA’s Labor Relations SIG provides attendees the opportunity to learn about significant developments in the law and to engage in a meaningful discussion among HR professionals on cutting-edge topics in the field of labor relations.  If you are an HR professional in a unionized workplace, the SIG meetings are “must-attend” events.
