The Portland Economy in 2019: changing direction?

Choose two options! Attend for lunch at the Doubletree on 2/20 or attend the same presentation at the Recruitment & Selection SIG at 7:30am on 2/21 at the 19th Floor Training Room in the Barran Liebman building (601 SW 2nd). 

 

Portland's economy is one of the most dynamic in the United States. We will explore the drivers behind the historic changes in our community and how that transformation will effect Portland's economic future.

 

Participant Objectives:

  • Identify the primary drivers behind the recent economic growth in the region.
  • Identify the primary risks to future of our region’s growth and how this may impact you and your organization
  • Identify major demographic changes around Oregon.

 

About the Speaker

Christian Kaylor is a Workforce Economist for the Oregon Employment Department, specializing in the Portland area.  He provides data analysis and advice relating to the Portland economy to local businesses, business associations and government agencies to facilitate intelligent decision making. His monthly newsletter on the Portland economy has 700 subscribers.

 

Before coming to the Employment Department seventeen years ago, Christian worked in various positions in Oregon politics and policy. A native Oregonian, Christian has a degree in Economics from the University of Oregon.
