Smart Social Media Recruiting Strategies for Smart Companies

Presented by: Martin Stoll, CEO Sparkloft Media

When you ask a CEO what she or he sees as the biggest challenges for their business, hiring and retaining talent is likely to be high on the list. With U.S. unemployment, less than 5 percent (the lowest in eight years), and employees showing less and less loyalty, the “war for talent” is being fought harder than ever.

In this “war”, new weapons are being used— and some of them are surprisingly successful. Since the emergence of “employer branding” concepts, companies have understood that some of the principles of consumer marketing should be used to market to current and future employees. This is where social media comes in.

It’s 2017 and everything is social: how you hear about breaking news, meeting your soulmate, choosing your next travel destination— and finding a job. Many are taking to the web to find new opportunities. Equipped with digital portfolios and resumes, the workforce is searching online job boards, and prospective employees are posting to their own social media to request information on opportunities.

However, many companies are not using their social channels to engage with potential employees. Aside from LinkedIn, which is solely dedicated to networking and recruiting, other channels like Facebook and Instagram are untapped markets for finding exceptional talent, and this is a space companies really should be capitalizing on.

Join us as we take you through three steps to building a successful social recruiting plan that will reach the next generation of employees you want to hire— and learn from our experience in helping a client double in size over 4 years by hiring 2,000 new employees.

Not only is the new workforce digitally savvy, they spend most of their time on social media. In order to get their attention, Marketing and HR must work together to meet them where they live. With smart social media recruiting strategies and advertising plans, your company will get in front of qualified candidates in their natural day-to-day digital experience — exactly where they are searching for the perfect company to join.

This presentation will take attendees through a three-step process to building a successful social recruiting program:

1. How to Design a Social Recruiting Strategy

2. How to Create and Plan Engaging Content

3. Getting Smart with Social Media Advertising

Integrating social media into your recruiting strategy will not only help your company as a whole, it could very well lead to a much more qualified pool of candidates for you to choose from when your HR colleagues try to fill the next open position on your team.

Learning Objectives:

Here are the three main takeaways attendees will gain from this session:

  1. An understanding of how to build a successful social recruiting strategy
  2. How to create and plan engaging content for prospective employees
  3. An understanding of social media advertising tools and techniques
