The Continued Growth of Identity Theft, and What Leading Employers Are Doing About It

Presented by: Kevin Renner, IDExperts

What’s the fastest-growing crime in America? Identity theft. And what’s the fastest-growing type of identity fraud? It’s medical identity theft. It affected 2.3 million Americans in 2015, and it’s growing by nearly 15 percent each year.

Both of these crimes put employees at significant risk, not to mention draining precious time from their workweeks. So what’s the trend line among employers who want to get out in front of the problem? And what are the tax implications?

Kevin Renner, of ID Experts, will share his company’s industry expertise with PHRMA members. ID Experts is the largest provider of identity protection services to the federal government, covering millions of employees and contractors with high-level security clearances. The company also serves the national Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, as well as health systems and employers of all sizes.

About the Speaker: Kevin Renner is Director of Market Development for ID Experts, the Portland-based provider of identity protection programs and the largest provider of identity protection to the US Federal government. He has helped grow six Inc.-500 companies and two global, publicly traded corporations, with a focus on health, wellness, employee benefits, and health information technology.

He received his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, and attended the executive marketing program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
